Interwiew to Rick Boast from Mausoleum

Interwiew by Luis Landeo
Is nice to have you in this intewiew Rick. How are you?
Things are good. Back from the Funeral is finally released after many years of hard work and determination,We are very proud of the album and what we have done. How was record a new album after of 8 years like band?
Great! But there was really no break in the 8 year process.Shortly after we released Cadaveric Displays. We recorded: "Back from the funeral" except for most of the vocals. But then had a line up change. Rob bought a new faclity for us to rehearse at, He and i made a complete recording studio and rewrote most of the album with our current guitarist Craig Stiles and rerecorded the entire album. With everyone having a career and family life and the passing of our guitarist Phil Newbaker (r.i.p.) It was just a very long process with a lot of road blocks. The new release of the band is: "Back from the Funeral" how was the process of write the lyrics for this new album?
I wrote most of the lyrics for BFTF. Dead Walkers and The Barron of terror our basically my own summary of Dawn of the Dead and The Barron of terror. Both great classic movies. The rest of the lyrics are from my twisted drunken brain.Phil wrote Counsumed by the deceased and Rob wrote Radioactive ressurrection. Not sure how they came up with those ideas but it worked for me.How was the recording session?
Great in every way. But split up over a long period of time.We are a total D.I.Y band so we don't have to worry about time constraints of $100 an hour or anything so it was pretty relaxed and a good atmosphere to be in .we are all metal brothers. They annoy me at times of course but its all cool at the end of the day. (laughts)Who did the art for this new release?
It was a great artist by the name of Daniel Devilish Johnsson. It was a pleasure to work with him, he did a great job.Are you thinking give a tour for all USA?
We would be great full to do a tour of the USA. But we wont be doing that anytime soon.We would starve and whither away with out any brains to eat.For now we are just doing select shows were we know people will appreciate what we do.Do you think is possible see Mausoleum in a tour for South America?
We would love to spread tales of the Zombiecult in South America. But with out propper support it would not be possible. If you could make a tour possibile some how we would be honored.Do you have a message for the fans?
Thank you for all of your support and hopefully one day we will make it to your town to spread the zombie virus.Until then please keep in contact with us at http://www.thezombiecult.us/ for all details on Mausoleum. Thanks for the interview Luis. Cheers metal brother!
