Interview to Mikael N.Sadist. of Patronymicon

Interview by Luis Landeo
Welcome Mikael to Arsenal Del Metalero is nice interview you, well the band is working in the second new full lenght so how are going the studio days and compose the new music and lyrics for this new album? and are you working with a recording producer?
Well hello and thank you for taking interest in Patronymicon. The recording session is done for out second album as we speak and we recorded everything in our own studio. Using the same people as last time except the members and some new gear. The only new thing is that we used Necromorbus studio for mastering.
Well in 2011 the band released the first full lenght titled: "PRIME OMEGA" why this name? and well the band as you told me before had a lot changes of members why happened that? and what is the new line up of the band? by the way how this affected: Patronymicon?
That’s correct. Well how should I put this. The record represents the ultimate destruction of the Physical world as we know it. The record itself is a tribute to that final course of our existents. Patronymicon started out as a one man project and the intention was to stay that way. It was while recording our demo “Coldborn”back in 2010 that another member was added to the lineup and after that some others joined as well. I don’t want to get into details about why members have left the band but i can say that lack of dedication towards the band and what it stands for was a major cause. How it have affected the band? Well everything that have happened have only been strengthening for Patronymicon. All members are as dedicated as the band deserves. The current lineup is: P.Locust – Drums H.Sulphur – Vox N.Sadist – Guitars, bass
Patronymicon is an interesting name for a band, sounds like the name of a black magic grimoire, can you tell me about the name of the band? and what is the concept of Patronymicon lyrics? cuz I had the chance to listen some of the band in Youtube and sounds great it reminds me some black metal bands I listen like: DarkThrone, Enochian Crescent and Black Funeral
Patronymicon has a deeper apocryphal meaning for the ones involved. It also represents our departure from the subservient flock of Jahve. We have chosen this path to transcend as our own deities through the blessing and wisdom of the dark trinity. The lyrical content has shifted from record to record but can be summarized with anti-Christianity, misanthropy, suffering and death. On future material H.Suplhur will take over a lot of the lyrical work and it will be more in depth and esoteric, like auditory gateways to qlippoth, fitting the course of Patronymicon.
Well are you thinking in tour europe after the release of this second album? you told me all the tour have to be payed and you are not agree in pay shitloads of money but this is part of the european reality, well in South America we dont have that kind of problems maybe except in Argentina bands pay to play, but why this problems of pay to play exist in Europe? it sounds like dont exist a real metal support in the continent.
We have been talking about touring some European countries but as I told you before, it costs money to tour. Until after we recorded “All daggers towards the sky” we where only 2 full members in the band, one of us are unemployed so lack of funds was one reason. The other is that we have been focusing on writing music so there was no time to self promote a tour. In Sweden its very hard, its easier in the rest of Europe but as I said I haven´t had the time or motivation to put it together myself. Let´s se what the future holds.
The art of the first album is dark and simple with two skeletons there, but how will be the art of this second release? or what thing do you have in mind for it?
The artwork for out second album is made by Chadwick Saint john and it will be revealed with the album release. I can say that I'm very satisfied with Chadwicks work and feel that it represents the album in the right way.
Well I know the band started like a solo project, but can you explain some how the band started for the readers?
It was my need to express things I made witch at the time didn´t fit with the other bands I played with back then. It came to the point when I had a lot of great material that I didn´t want to go wasted. my urge for this music drove me to do something with it.
When people listen about swedish black metal metal, people think instantly in: Dark Funeral and the legendary band: Dissection and well people think all the black metal bands from Sweden have to be popular but the this is beyond from the reality, tell me how big or underground is the black metal scene in your country?
We do have a very big underground scene with a lot of bands playing black metal which also means that there are a whole bunch of shit out there, to many of todays bands just ride on trends and doesn´t fully understand the meaning with this kind of music, witch is frustrating. We respect a few bands and the people in the scene that shows true dedication.
Well about it, now in big fest like: Wacken, Party San fest, we find black metal bands playing there like: Negator, Marduk, Dark Funeral, Immortal, Mayhem, Dimmu Borgir, Gorgoroth, Satyricon, so practicly we can say the genre is growing up everyyear but the problem is metal fans are focus in slamming brutal death metal bands, years ago they was focus in Metalcore but well why do you think black metal continues underground and only a few bands out of the underground?
I do not really care how the festival trends goes. Black metal has and always will occult from the shadows. Spawned and lurking in the tar-filled rift of the underground scene.
You told me before the Black Metal bands are focus in do live ritual in their performance, but do you consider practice black magic in a stage isnt dangerous? well I ask this cuz I am from Peru and we have a long esoteric history specially in black magic and red magic and this is taken like dangerous thing for an inexpert and well black arts have to be taken with respect.
Interesting question! Well why should we care if it is dangerous for the ones that visits the shows?
We have the outmost respect for the ritualistic work, it's also almost impossible to transact a successful ritual with beer drinking metal heads in the audience. That should be done in solitude. But if we succeed and some people perish in the process it is not a bad thing, a fine offering I would say. Our shows is more of a tribute to the whitch gods directed to those who understand it.
Well I will wait for the release of this new album and well do you have a last message for the readers and black metal fans around the world?
I say everything I worth saying trough our albums. Buy em…
