Interview to Marcela of Vocifera

Interview by Luis Landeo
Hails Marcela is a pleasure have an interview with you, how are you? I like know Vocifera is a female band of Death Thrash Metal but how start the idea of form a band only of females in brazil?
It's not the first time I play in a girls only band. Me, Erika and Lidi already played in another band. So we decided to create the Vocífera, because Death Metal is a style we all love and wish to play.
The band released last year a demo how was the recording days? and well the band worked faster, usually band in the continent take like a lot years to release only one demo or any release, so how much was the cost for this recording? by the way the sound of this release dont sound like a "demo" I would like to say is an EP, but why a demo of only 2 tracks?
Vocífera exist since 2012. We had one year till we recorded the single, but it was not that fast. It took about 2 months for ending the recordings of two songs and we needed to play with the band as soon as possible ( people knew about the band and they asked for us to play already ). That's why we recorded only two songs. We recorded guitars, bass and vocals in a home studio, drums in a other studio and mixing and masterization in a third studio. We really loved the final product, but it was hard work.
The band played in many shows, and is good to see that, I like know female metal is welcome in Southamerica and a big country like brazil, but I only interviewed a few bands from brazil like: Claustrofobia, Sodamned, Sangrena, and I would like to know how is the female metal scene there? and how is a show of Vocifera?
The local metal scene for woman's is getting its power right now. There are several great bands, such as Nervosa, Panndora, Sinaya, Scatha, The Kickers and many others that are doing a excellent work. But things really need to evolve, in order to the scene to be REALLY strong. It's still something new in our country, as crazy as it sounds. Our show is really full of energy and the crowd loves our musics. They headbang and stage dive a lot. It's really fun.
Like drummer how many time take you compose the drums for the music of your band? what is the difficult of work in the percussion?
The melodies of our songs are usually created by the guitars Erika and Lidi. After that, we fit bass and drums and finally the vocals. The most difficult, right now, is to compose with dual pedals. 'cause our songs are faster and much more heavy.
Do you have in mind work in a full lenght? and what about a tour for SouthAmerica?
Yes! We'll start to record as soon as possible. I believe that near june we already got some of the material complete. True is that we need money to do so. We're working hard and spreading the name of the band. We think the tour is just a matter of time. It's something we all want e hope to happen soon.
Well was a good interview Marcela, hope listen soon more stuff of Vocifera, do you have any last message?
Well, I thank you. What I can say is that all of you keep an eye on Vocífera. We're gonna release some new stuff pretty soon to the metal scene. Stay Death Metal. Thanks!
