Interview to George Magus of Necromantia

Interview by Luis Landeo
Nice to meet you Magus, how goes the new projects with Necromantia?
Luis.well we are still trying to find some free time in order to work on a new single and start working on a full album after that.
Well the last release of Necromantia was in 2009 with a compilation album title: De Magia Veterum, are you thinking in release a new album? and if you are working how goes the recording session?
Indeed we are going to do a new album, still nothing is certain , everything is under consideration. A working title is "Black Aristocratic Metal". This is the term which defines our music anyway.
All the lyrics of Necromantia are about darkness, black magic, also include vampirism, and horror tales in what you take inspiration for write your lyrics?
From my involvement in the dark arts in general. Or from a movie or a book....even dreams or nightmares I have....everything can inspire me and trigger responses in the dark side of my demonic self.
Well I will sound kinda curious but in 2005 the band released a boxed set with some albums of Necromantia but i notice this boxed art include different arts for example: the art of "Crossing the Fiery Path" in the firt release have the art of a vampire (dracula) but in the boxed set this art change, why the change of art for this boxed set?, or the boxed set art is the real art for this releases?
Everything included in there was remastered and repacked. We wanted to give our fans a gift with a collective touch. The original covers remain original!!
Necromantia have practicly 22/23 years like band and is a great inspiration for many black metal bands in the world, cuz you guys create the greek black metal sound, thats include Rotting christ (well I know you was member of them) but how do you feel you of be a great influence for many black metal fans in the world?
Indeed it is very flattering and we feel proud that we spread the Word of Darkness in this wretched planet. We salute all the people out there who supported us, were influenced by us or even copy us!
Well I know in 2003 you was planning release an album titled: "Temple of the Skull" why never was released this album?
Because it was a working title. We changed the title to :"The sound of Lucifer storming Heaven" which was released on cd from the German label Dockyard1 and on Lp from the Greek DarkSide records.
Well for end this interview are you thinking in new shows? and do you have a message for your fans? advicement?
We have never performed live and we never will. Our music is to be experienced. It is penetrating the soul is not for entertainment . To our fans: stay on the dark path, you will be rewarded in the End.
