Interview to Matt Fawcett of Sinate

Interview by Luis Landeo
Welcome Matt is a pleasure interview you, I dont have words for describe this new album cuz is 666% fucking amazing, i was checking a few songs in youtube and the new music video and guys this is the best album, but how do you feel you after of release this new sinate album?
Thanks man.We appreciate it!!!I am fucking stoked to have the album out finally!!!! To The Death has been recieved really well by our fans. And obviously I am happy, as it's the 1st Sinate album that I have played on!!
The fontcover of the new album is so amazing with those skulls like praying but what is the concept behind the art of this album?
Yea it's cool aye! That was done by Kim Crosland (Chaosart). We are really lucky to have her looking after all of our artwork. The album is called To The Death. So skeletons tie in pretty well with that I think. And it looks fucken cool!!!!!!
What is the concept behind all this new lyrics cuz all the lyrics of Sinate are about war, darkness, and prophecies? had new changes in that?
All the lyrics were written by The other boys(Matt & amp; Sam).A couple of songs are pretty personal I know.Curse Of The Blood Eagle is great, google it! that's some nasty viking shit.
The album was recorded in sweden how was record an album far away from home (New Zealand) and why record the album in Sweden?
It was great man.Hung out with so many cool people, had some great parties.Drank a shitload of beer ( we had to as it was 2.5%!!!),and got to see some cool stuff. We were living in Germany at the time.So it wasn't so far for us to go.We were there in summer which was cool.It never got dark!!!
How was record the album in Pelle Saether studios?
Pelle is fucking amazing!!!!! We are lucky to know him.
Tell about how long it took write, rehearse and record the new album?
There was a really long break between Violent Ambitions and To The Death.Sinate had a couple of lineup changes in between. When I joined the band the guys already had a couple of new songs done and we played those live.We are always writing and fucking around with ideas. The album came together realy quickly once we had studio time booked and knew we had to get the songs done.We spent 2 weeks recording the album.
Do you have in mind a DVD?
We have no plan to do a dvd that i know of. Good idea though. We have taken alot of funny footage of ourselves and mates on tour!!!
Are you thinking back to tour europe for this year?
Shit I really have taken along time to get these answers to you haven't i bro! Sorry.I just returned from Europe. We have alot of big plans there. And it is our second home now. We are currently writing songs for the next album. And are booking a New Zeaand tour for early next year.We will head back to Europe as soon as the NZ tour finishes.
The band released a great music video: "Premonition of the Wicked", I like a lot this video is so different than the rest of sinate videos and you play aggressive ain this video, who was the video director? do you think include this video for the dvd like a bonus? How was film the video and how long did it take to film the video?
Premonition was done by our mate Joe from Murderman Production.(http://www.murderman.com ). It was alot of fun to film.It took us a few hours to do. The weather was geat and we had alot to drink!!!
What sort of guitars do you use? what are your tecnhiques to play guitars?
I play an LTD Alexi model, and a BC Rich Mockingbird. Practice man.Use a metronome. Make sure your hands are in sync.No good having an amazing right hand if your left can't keep up.If you are gonna drink before shows, then fucken drink at practise to! so you are used to it.Nothing feels as bad as coming offstage knowing you just played shit.
Thanks Matt, was a great interview any last message to end this interview?
Cheers bros!
