Hail Kostas, how are you? and welcome to Arsenal Del Metalero, Can you tell me how the band started? and who are the members of the band?
Greetings i am very well and thank you for having me . Kosmogonia came together as a band in 2015 from Kostas Magalios(Me) (rhythm Guitar,Vocals) and Christos Drosos(Lead Guitar) and the music genre was melodic death-thrash at the time. In 2016 the band split and re-formed with present day members who are: Kostas Magalios(Rhythm Guitar/Vocals) Dimitris Spyrakis(Drums) Paul Theiakodimitris(Bass Guitar) Vasia Padazi(Keyboard) Danai Vamvakoy(Flute). This coincided with the mutual decision to express their love of pagan folk music.
Actually the band will release the first full length, but i was checking some singles you published in youtube, one of them is "TRIIRIS" what means the tytle of: "TRIIRIS" of first single?
We are currently working on our first full length album. In the process of doing so, we decided to promote it with the release of two singles. The first one is already released and it's called "TRIIRIS" . "TRIIRIS" or "trireme" in english is an ancient type of warship which gave City state Athens the ability to dominate the seas of the ancient world and to spread their culture to the whole Europe. The single talks about Athens and how it's countless ships conquered the ancient world.
I was checking the art cover of the single: "TRIIRIS", it reminds me to the famous story of The Illiad of Homer, is Homer and greek myths a inspiration for lyrics for you? and can you tell me what is the lyrical concept for this first full length?
Of course Ancient Greek Mythology is a great source of inspiration and there are many topics that can be drawn from it. Certainly some songs from our album do have Greek mythology as their topic while others talk about ancient Greek's history , as you can see from our single "TRIIRIS".
In the growl parts of the song: "TRIIRIS" I notice the Ammon Ammarth influence, but what are the musical influences of the band?
We are a group of 5 people and as a result we have a lot influences and many genres of metal that we listen to. If i could pick some bands that we are influenced by then i would say Eluveite, Ensiferum, Arkona, Wintersun, Amon Amarth, Blind Guardian, etc.
What represent the symbols of the owl and the eyes in the sky in the cover of "TRIIRIS" are there?
It is well known that the Owl is a symbol of Goddess Athena and one of the most powerful symbols of the Hellenic pagan religion. The eyes in the sky are the eyes of the Goddess which protected her beloved city Athens and it's citizens as well as warriors.
Are you thinking in a tour after the release of this first full length? and record a music video?
Yes, we have some plans in our minds for a tour , video clip or lyric video but at the moment in time we are concentrating on recording our album.
To finish with this interview do you have a message for fans and readers?
I would like to say a big "Thank you" to all our followers and everyone who supports us, you are our driving force! Last but not least to all our fans from Peru we hope one day that we will have the honor of playing Live in your Country! Hope to see you there! Thank you for this great interview!
